The Provident Bank to Help Expand Export Opportunities for Area Businesses through New Partnership

Programs set to begin February 1st, will help educate companies about how to tap into international markets to expand their growth.

(Concord, NH, January 24, 2017) – Companies seeking to expand their markets now have more resources, thanks to a new partnership between The Provident Bank and New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development. This partnership will include an infusion of funding from The Provident to boost educational programs and support services to help companies in the region looking to expand their exporting business.

Eligible businesses will now have more opportunities to take advantage of counseling, classes and research to explore secondary markets and expand their growth. The new learning opportunities will begin February 1st, starting with a webinar, Expanding Overseas Sales through E-Commerce, designed to help companies learn about the necessary requirement of e-commerce with speakers from EBay. “The Provident is committed to strengthening opportunities for business clients,” stated The Provident’s CEO Dave Mansfield. “We decided to become involved in export banking because of a client with a need. In order to help that business grow, we became the only locally headquartered bank to be a delegated lender with the Export/Import Bank of the United States and have our own SWIFT code. It is important to understand that most of the world’s consumers are outside the United States and many businesses may not be aware that by concentrating on just the U.S., they are only tapping into only 5% of the worldwide marketplace.”

“New Hampshire companies export over $4 billion of goods and services annually, which help to keep our economy robust and vibrant,” said Commissioner Jeffrey Rose of the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development. “Having The Provident Bank as a partner, providing funding to increase our educational programming and the Export Expansion Fund, will help more companies expand into global markets, increase their profit margins and hire additional employees.”

“New Hampshire companies want to expand their marketplace and we’ve been able to support them in that regard by developing some very effective programs,” stated Tina Kasim, program manager at New Hampshire’s International Office of Commerce. “The funding from The Provident gives us the ability to engage more companies that are new to exporting as well as those more seasoned exporters.”

This partnership includes the Granite State District Export Council, the U.S. Department of Commerce/U.S. Commercial Service and the U.S. Department of the Export Expansion Fund.
