The Provident Bank Celebrates 18th Year of "Our Community, Your E-Vote Program"
$50,000 donated to non-profit organizations.
June 28, 2017 – The Provident was proud to celebrate its 18th year funding the Our Community, Your E-Vote program at a reception on June 13th. The program was created in an effort to get the community involved in deciding how the bank divides a portion of its charitable donations to area non-profits. Last year the bank increased its charitable donation for the program from $20,000 to $50,000 in order to make an even greater philanthropic impact on the communities it serves. This year, another $50,000 was donated.
Thirty-nine area non-profits in Amesbury and Newburyport Massachusetts, as well as Southern and Seacoast New Hampshire participated in a friendly online voting competition for donations. The top three winners included: The Boys & Girls Club of Lower Merrimac Valley (Merrimac, MA), YMCA Camp Lincoln (Exeter, NH), and Seacoast Repertory Theatre (Portsmouth, NH). The Provident’s CEO, Dave Mansfield, personally handed out checks totaling $50,000 to the organizations at an event held at the bank’s Amesbury headquarters.
“By increasing our donation total to $50,000, our hope is to make a bigger impact for participating charitable organizations to fulfill their vital missions. The enthusiasm and appreciation received by each organization involved was overwhelming, said The Provident CEO, David Mansfield. “I am thankful for the hard work and commitment these organizations provide our communities and it is an honor to support them.”
To date, the bank has distributed over $422,000 to area organizations through the program.
