The Provident Bank Celebrates 19th Year of
“Our Community, Your E-Vote” Program
(Amesbury, MA, May 3, 2018) – Dave Mansfield, CEO of The Provident Bank, announces the voting period for the bank’s 19th Annual “Our Community, Your E-Vote” program has begun. This unique and extremely popular program allows local nonprofit organizations and community members to help determine how the bank divides $50,000 in charitable donations.
“The Our Community, Your E-Vote program is always a fun and engaging way to get the community involved in supporting nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve,” explains Mansfield.
In 2016, the bank raised the donation amount from $20,000 to $50,000 in a strategic effort to have a greater charitable impact.
“This is one philanthropic effort with the potential to have a large impact on community members who really need the support,” continues Mansfield. “Through this program, we are able to provide nonprofit organizations in our markets with a substantial donation they can use toward funding programs that help those in need.”
Employees of the bank nominate 501c3 nonprofit organizations in their markets to participate in the program. The donation amount each organization receives is determined by the number of votes they receive from the community. Interested voters can visit www.theprovidentbank.com and click on the Our Community, Your E-Vote icon, which links to a survey where a vote can be cast for a favorite nonprofit organization. At the end of the voting period, May 31, 2018, the survey closes and the votes are tallied. The bank then calculates how the donation will be divided among the organizations.
“We have been offering this program for 19 years, and every year is different. I am looking forward to watching the votes come in and the excitement on the faces of the nonprofit organizations when they receive their check at the annual reception. That is very gratifying to me as the CEO of a bank that believes in the strength of its community.”
To date, the bank has distributed over $422,000 to area organizations through the program.
**The organizations for this year’s Our Community, Your E-Vote program have already been chosen. No organizations will be added to the 2018 list. Interested organizations may inquire about next year’s program at their local branch in January 2019**
